You do not need a special permit like Protected Area Permit or Inner Liner Permit to visit Ladakh. All you need is the Indian visa. However, there are some restricted areas near the border, for which you need a special Inner Line Permit. The permit can be obtained from the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Leh. However, you must apply through a local travel agency for the Inner Line Permit.
